KBNF is a registered charity with a global reach. Our primary focus is in providing medical support for brain injuries and diseases for the people of Ghana and West Africa. We are committed to supporting health care infrastructure for the region by partnering with West African champions in the development of sustainable neuroscience and health care delivery. We support neuro specialist education and training for the doctors, nurses and other health care professionals who work in their homelands. We are committed to the establishment of a neuro rehabilitation service in Ghana focused primarily on delivering rehabilitation for stroke patients. We believe that a basic requirement of sustainable health care is Heart Power, caring with your heart, caring with compassion.

Ross serves as a KBNF Board of Director and most recently accepted the position of Vice President of Excellence in Africa Neuroscience and Health, KBNF operating charity.

Ross Dickinson is President of EnEco which converts municipal solid waste into energy (electrical, air conditioning, steam, etc.) and recover recyclable materials in an efficient, cost effective, zero waste manner using their vanguard product: TOPS (Thermal Oxidation Process System) selling and/or owning and operating these gasification systems worldwide. EnEco is devoted to the application and development of innovative environmental and economical solutions.

Ms. Ratel is a neuroscience staff nurse at Vancouver General Hospital (VGH) since 1978 and a strong advocate for access to quality health care in developing countries. Ms. Ratel founded the Korle-Bu Neuroscience Project in 2000. By the following year, she and nursing colleagues, along with members of the Ghanaian community, began organizing the shipment of good-quality used medical equipment together with new medical supplies to Korle Bu Teaching Hospital (KBTH). In Vancouver, she and her team established the non-profit Korle-Bu Neuroscience Foundation (KBNF) in 2003, followed by two accompanying Canadian fundraising charities in 2004 and 2005.
